This is a simple book to help parents and children feel more prepared and ready for the phonics check. What is the check? The phonics check is a special test that all kids in Year 1 have to take. It's all about learning how to read words by sounding them out. There are 40 different words on the test, and you have to read them out loud to your teacher. You get a score based on how well you do, and it helps your teacher know if you're doing a good job with your phonics skills. It's important to practice reading lots of different words so you can do your best on the phonics check!
