Dream Boy - Spencer Buchanan
Chapter 1
J
ameson woke up to the sound of his alarm clock. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! He smashed it with his hand and sat up in bed. He stretched his hand out beside him to reach for his wife, but it was just covers and mattress. Christie, his wife, had already gotten up for the morning. He quickly changed clothes and walked down the hallway to the kitchen. Christie had made waffles, and Christian and Gabel were already chowing down. Susie was sitting in a high chair chewing on her strawberry puffs. Jameson picked up a plate, took two waffles, and sat down to eat.
Good morning,
Jameson said.
Good morning, sleepy head.
Christie laughed.
Christie put the waffle maker in the sink, wiped down the stove with paper towels, and made herself a plate of waffles, too. Then she sat down with the rest of the family.
Jameson had a bushy, dirty blonde beard these days, but the same bright blue eyes. Christie had long silky brown hair and a pearly white smile that would light up a room. Jameson also had secret powers. His wife, mother, and kids knew, but the world did not. Jameson could dream anything and it would come true. They lived in the small town of Weston where you knew almost everyone. Jameson had a job at the local animal hospital and Christie was a teacher at the Weston Middle School. Christie used to work at the elementary school, but moved campuses when the kids moved up. The kids particularly liked Jameson’s job because sometimes they could help bathe and care for some of the animals. Christie liked her job as a school teacher because she could see the kids any time she wanted at the school. The boys liked that too, even though at this age they were too cool to show much affection.
Christian and Gabel were like two peas in a pod. They loved fishing and hunting with their father and both played basketball. Although Christian was twelve and Gabel was eleven, they got along well and played basketball with each other all the time. Although Gabel lacked, Christian had super powers much like his dad. Christian had the ability to make his dreams come true as well.
Susie was two years old and had just started learning how to talk well. She got angry easily, but looked like an angel with her brown hair and shamrock green eyes.
Everyone cleared their plates and Christian and Gabel went to get ready for school. Today was Friday, the last day of the school week. Christie also left to get ready for her day at school, since she was a teacher. Jameson didn’t have to leave for work for another hour and a half. He helped Christian and Gabel get their backpacks together and watched as Christie, Christian, and Gabel piled into their car and headed off to school.
Jameson waved good-bye and turned on the morning news. He poured himself a cup of coffee and let Susie sit in his lap in the recliner. He would later drop her off at the daycare on his way to work.
Today is going to be a good day.
he thought to himself as he reflected on his family and their life together. Little did he know, everything was all about to change dramatically.

ameson was covered in water and goo. He had just helped birth a calf and fell into a water trough at work. He was about to pick the kids up from school when someone pulling out of the clinic, scraped against his car and drove away without a second glance. He wondered why this had to happen to him, and then remembered the dream he had last night.
Uh-oh.
Jameson whispered to himself. He had dreamt his family was going to have terrible luck for one whole day. How could he have forgotten this?!? This was not good.
He hopped in the car and raced to get to the school. It was 3:30pm and he was supposed to pick the boys up at 3:00pm. He finally arrived and the kids hopped in. Christian’s hair
