Captured by a Prince - Castle Emma

D o you see her?
Darius Luca, the high prince of Caledonia, asked his best friend, Dorin, as they hid at the edge of the dance floor. Dorin was head of the Caledonian elite royal guards and Darius’s personal bodyguard. He trusted no one else with his mission to capture a princess.
She’s there,
Dorin whispered in awe as they watched a particularly beautiful woman dancing.
It had been ten years since he had last seen Virginia Mayer. She’d been fifteen and he seventeen. The last words they said to each other had been thrown in anger after her father’s funeral. They had been contracted to marry—thanks to Darius’s father, Marcus, and Virginia’s father, Florin, the late king of Caledonia. After Virginia’s father died, Darius’s father was next in line to be king. He and Florin were distant cousins, several times removed. Florin’s wife, an American woman, had left the country with their daughter, Virginia, the last of the royal Mayer bloodline, ignoring the marriage contract.
Your father didn’t mention how pretty she’s grown up to be,
Dorin murmured.
Darius stared. Her green eyes flashed with life, and her light-brown hair held a hint of gold as it tumbled down to her waist, unbound. His body tightened in excitement. He had bedded many women over the years, but now that he’d seen Virginia again, he wanted no other. When they were younger, there had been an explosive charge between them that often resulted in fights, but now . . . Now they could have other, better ways to ease that tension between them.
He was in Chicago, thousands of miles from Caledonia, a small country south of Romania, because it was time to claim his wayward princess and take her home.
Dorin, you know what to do.
Darius nodded at his friend. Ever since they’d turned eighteen, he and Dorin had seduced women together, the pleasure heightened when they shared someone. Few women could resist Dorin’s fair hair and blue eyes and Darius’s dark hair and sable-brown eyes.
He and Dorin made their way across the dance floor, approaching Virginia. The music boomed overhead, and lights flashed, giving them the advantage of not being recognized. They had grown and changed in the last ten years, but Virginia might still recognize them. They needed to rely on the darkness of the club as long as they could.
Virginia spun, her laughter audible beneath the music. God, she was beautiful when she laughed. Darius continued to move across the floor toward her. Dorin came in first, brushing up against her. She spun to look at him, but he half hid in shadow. Virginia danced with him, her body moving to the beat with his, and as she turned away from him, Darius was there on the other side, dancing close to her. She was separated from her friends now, caught between him and Dorin in a seductive dance. She surrendered, her eyes half-closed as the three of them moved in harmony.
This was what he longed for, this perfect trinity. The princess he had always loved, even when he hadn’t liked her as a child, and the best friend he would die for. But he knew Virginia would not come with him willingly. Her mother had chosen to ignore the marriage contract, and so had Virginia. But the promise of a king was inviolable. His and Virginia’s destinies were written down in Caledonian law, but also in his heart. He just had to make her see, but they didn’t have time for a slow seduction. He needed to marry her soon. His father was dying, and he’d vowed Marcus would see the royal wedding before he lost his battle to cancer.
The music changed, and he moved closer to Virginia, inhaling her light floral perfume. He reached out, his hands catching her hips, guiding her closer just as Dorin moved in from behind. Virginia gave in to him, grinding her body against his in all the right ways. Darius cherished the moment, knowing all too soon it would end when she got a better look at him. As the music changed again, Virginia slowed her dancing, her eyes sliding up his body in sensual appraisal, but when she reached his face, she stiffened.
Her eyes widened, and she gasped, No, you can’t be here!
Dorin, now!
he hissed, and Dorin reacted fast, covering Virginia’s mouth with his hand as they swept her into the darkness at the edge of the dance floor. He hated knowing they were frightening her, but they had no choice. He just needed time alone with her to talk, to convince her to marry him and come home.

Virginia was in shock. One minute she was dancing between two gorgeous men who made her feel wildly alive, and the next she was being kidnapped from the nightclub by her old flame—her betrothed. Darius Luca.
Darius is in Chicago. As the reality sank in, Virginia struggled against his hold, but she was escorted down a back hall and into an alley, where a car was waiting. The devilishly handsome blond man led the way and opened the door, and Darius shoved her into the back seat before following her inside. Darius cuffed her hands behind her back.
Smart man. Darius must have remembered how good she was at her self-defense lessons, provided to all royal children in Caledonia. If she hadn’t been so surprised to see Darius, she would have fought like hell and likely escaped. She knew she wasn’t in any danger, not from Darius. But she was furious and shot him a venomous look as he settled into the seat beside her and pulled her onto his lap, cradling her.
Virginia,
he murmured, and she was momentarily lost in memories of the gorgeous seventeen-year-old boy she had adored. Now his voice was deeper, huskier, the hint of his Caledonian accent enough to make her shiver.
Dammit. She did not want to fall in love with him again.
Where’s your other half?
she challenged.
Driving the getaway car.
Darius nodded toward the driver’s seat.
Dorin?
She turned to look at the tall, muscled blond man. Wow, he had grown up too. They were a pair of Greek gods, and they had captured her like it was nothing.
Why are you here, Darius? My mother told your father we weren’t honoring the marriage contract. That’s one of the reasons we left after Dad . . .
She didn’t finish. Memories of losing her father and mother were too painful. She’d been alone for the last year, after her mother died of cervical
