About this ebook
From Scribd: About the Book
Dr. Josh Axe, a specialist in natural medicine and wellness, presents a groundbreaking and crucial guide to understanding, diagnosing, and treating one of the most speculated on, yet barely understood health conditions: leaky gut syndrome. As a basic function for keeping us healthy, our gut tends to rely on the maintenance of a symbiotic relationship with trillions of microorganisms that thrive in our digestive tract. When our digestive system isn't running correctly, serious health problems ensue, and eventually our intestinal walls can develop dangerous microscopic holes that allow undigested food particles, bacteria, and even toxins to seep directly into our bloodstream. This condition is called leaky gut syndrome, and it can be dangerous if left untreated. Around 80% of the population has leaky gut syndrome, yet most people have never heard of the condition. Leaky gut syndrome is the root cause of many ailments: chronic inflammation, allergies, autoimmune diseases, hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, diabetes, and even arthritis.
In Eat Dirt: Why Leaky Gut May Be the Root Cause of Your Health Problems and 5 Surprising Steps to Cure It, Dr. Axe identifies the five varieties of "gut type" and offers specialized plans depending on the circumstances.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Infuriating. In one paragraph, he'd reference real, established science and in the next paragraph he'd reference a bullshit sham of a study from a vanity journal. His advice is a mishmash of solid science and promising theories jammed together with hokum and woo. It's infuriating because, questionable legitimacy of different "gut types" aside, much of the actionable advice is sensible...so WHY push those other bullshit theories? They just throw every other claim into question too.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing book! So informative and easy to understand. I will be reading again to soak in more info!
