Introduction

What is XSLT?

XSLT is Extensible Style Sheet Language Transformation (XSLT). It handles and formats the contents of Extensible Markup Language (XML) documents.

In recent years, there has been the mass usage of XML. And while XML allows and facilitates the structure of data in documents, XSLT enables you to work, manipulate and create the contents of XML documents. One example is the sorting of a particular database such as inventory of products, employee records, data files, and catalogues. XSLT allows you to get as detailed as possible in formatting and manipulating these database records.

You can work with the contents of XML documents by writing your own programs that interface to XML parser applications, but that involves writing your own code. With XSLT, on the other hand, you can perform the same kinds of tasks, and there's no programming required. Rather than write your own Java, Visual Basic, or C++ code to handle the contents of XML documents, you just
