Blowback: A Warning to Save Democracy from the Next Trump

About this audiobook
Donald Trump will be president again, whether he is on the ballot or not. That is because Trumpism is overtaking the Republican Party and will mount a vigorous comeback, potentially in the hands of a savvier successor. This prophecy will come true, according to Miles Taylor, if we do not learn the lessons of the recent past.
With the 2024 election approaching, the formerly “Anonymous” official is back with bombshell revelations and a sobering national forecast. Through interviews with dozens of ex-Trump aides and government leaders, Taylor predicts what could happen inside “Trump 2.0,” the White House of a more competent and more formidable copycat.
What sounds like a political thriller—from shadowy presidential powers and CIA betrayals to angry henchmen and assassination plots—is instead America’s political reality, as Taylor uses untold stories to shed light on the ex-President’s unfulfilled plans, the dark forces haunting our lives, and how we can thwart the rise of extremism in the United States.\
Blowback is also a surprisingly emotional and self-critical portrait of a dissenter, whose own unmasking provides a vivid warning about what happens when we hide the truth from others and, most importantly, ourselves.
Miles Taylor
Miles Taylor is a national security expert who works in Washington, DC. Taylor previously served as chief of staff at the US Department of Homeland Security, where he published an “Anonymous” essay in The New York Times, blowing the whistle on presidential misconduct. He later published the #1 national bestseller A Warning, revealed himself to be the author, and launched a campaign of ex-officials to oppose Donald Trump’s reelection. He’s worked as an advisor in the George W. Bush administration, on Capitol Hill, as a CNN contributor, and is the cofounder of a DC-based charter school and multiple democracy-reform groups. Taylor received his MPhil in international relations from Oxford University as a Marshall Scholar and BA from Indiana University as a Harry S. Truman scholar.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I appreciate the boldness and courage of the author and others who are willing to do the right thing. I recognize it comes at a great cost, especially when dealing with such petty, and often unhinged, adversaries.
It hurts my heart to see people I love and respect following Trump and his allies. It feels unfathomable. The conversations with them are surreal as they lack logic and border lunacy! I’m not sure how we’ll overcome the divide created by the former administration.
As a lifelong Christian democrat, I straddle the political lines and just want to see the right thing happen and for our country to be strong and united. Which seems a bit far fetched in this politicos climate. I look forward to more from Miles and others like him.3 people found this helpful

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Well written and very informative. One of the few honest and candid looks inside the White House and the trump administration.
It amazes me the depth of loss experienced by those in that administration, both by sticking around and leaving early. Sticking around to “help” make sure the damage is contained as best as possible while sacrificing everything that means something to you (losing a spouse, going against all your morals, becoming a psychiatric patient to deal with it all etc) OR leaving your dream job because the dictator in chief is a psychopath and you are constantly wondering what is going to be the next five alarm fire, because you know there is another one coming…
In both instances you will lose friends and family because of your choice. I’m glad I have never felt the need to sleep with a sig sauer on my bedside table. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Here we go again 'saving the democracy' playbook. What else to expect from a CNN contributor? There's nothing positive for the Biden administration to run on, hence they pick the same playbook 'save the democracy'. We have to save America from the Democrats and democracy will be automatically saved.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Extremely well written and I couldn’t stop listening. It’s a captivating story. But at the same time, it’s frightening that we are so close to losing it all. I recommend everyone should read this before the next election.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5You guys are all communists. Leftist. socialist. Globalist. No regard to the constitution or bill of rights. You all should be ashamed. Go live in China! Wait what? You don’t want too? Weird because you like America too much. Oh wait. America is America because of the constitution, Biden is fast tracking us to be owned by communist China. Garbage. We need to fry this guy. Send him to hell where he belongs. And all of you reading this need to educate yourself.
