This was one of my favorite book series as a kid, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was just as enjoyable to listen to as adult. The voice acting is perfect, the stories are still very creepy, and the end notes about the folklore behind the tales are fascinating and enlightening. An awesome read for spooky season!

They may not be the most terrifying stories in the world, but this book gave me some incredible moments during my preadolescence when I consumed almost anything horror-related that I could get my hands on. One of the most interesting aspects is that it collects stories from different cultural backgrounds and countries, well-known urban legends from around the world, and it also includes some dark humor. It's a pity that in the latest version they had to remove the classic illustrations because they scared the children too much. The paradox. (Translated from Spanish)

I'm truly sorry. But it goes to my worst readings of the year. I bought it because I saw the trailer for the movie and it caught my attention. And the truth is, it reads quickly, but it doesn't scare at all. The endings are very abrupt. Sometimes the stories are silly. I didn't like it at all.
Note: one story did make me laugh. And it can be read in a few hours, that's why the star. (Translated from Spanish)

A book read to please my children, with short stories that are more fun and entertaining than scary for adults. My favorite is "The Finger." In fact, I often use it to start conversations with the younger ones to grab their attention. (Translated from Spanish)
