About this audiobook

Gore Vidal, one of the master stylists of American literature and an acute observer of American life and history, turns his literary and historiographic talent to a portrait of the formidable trio of George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. In "Inventing a Nation", Vidal transports the reader into the minds, the living rooms (and bedrooms), the convention halls and the salons of Washington, Jefferson, Adams and others. We come to know these men, their opinions of each other, their worries about money and their concerns about creating a viable democracy.

Gore Vidal

GORE VIDAL (1925-2012) was an American writer of novels, essays, screenplays, and stage plays, and a public intellectual known for his patrician manner, epigrammatic wit, and polished style of writing. As a novelist Vidal explored the nature of corruption in public and private life; the polished, erudite style of narration readily evokes the time and place of the story, and perceptively delineates the psychology of the characters.

I found to written in a non comprehensive way, to be hugely opinionated and to have for a goal the diminution of all acts to Petty and personal.
