About this audiobook

Plastics draw on dwindling fossil fuels, leach harmful chemicals, litter landscapes, and destroy marine life, and, as journalist Susan Freinkel points out, the planet is nearing a crisis point. Here, Freinkel combs through scientific studies and economic data, reporting from China and across the United States to assess the real impact of plastic on everyday life.

So many generations were convinced that the future was made of plastic, and sadly, they were right. In this book, Susan Freinkel shares her research on the role plastic plays in our daily lives, how it can affect our health, and the different types of industries in this market; from designer furniture to disposables and unnecessary items that end up polluting the soil, the seas, or even in the stomachs of birds. Susan invites us to be aware of our consumption and gives us countless reasons to think twice before accepting a plastic bag. (Translated from Spanish)
