Land of Hope is a clear and concise overview of American history, with a considered emphasis on the context of historical events, asking the reader if, given the same circumstances, would he or she have acted differently? This book had been recommended by noted historian, Allen Guelzo, and I was excited to see that an audio version was available on Scribd. The narration complemented the text beautifully, not a small accomplishment for a 20 hour long history book. It helped for me to listen in short chunks of time, so that I could better absorb the firehose-full of information. Well worth the effort to listen and I plan to purchase the hard copy as well.
