Between desire and reason...an old problem for the contemporary woman. Vanda, a psychologist in private practice in Romania, feels free and uninhibited after the end of a  boring and unfulfilling marriage. She foolishly jumps into the risky game of passionate love in hope of finding the ideal life partner. Only to find out that giving full love to others does not necessarily provides sincere love in return.

Vanda is enslaved by her own desires. She is simply pushed in new relationships by a seductive attraction to the opposite sex. She is incapable of giving full consideration to potential negative outcomes of her actions. In search for the perfect partner, she is driven by haste and passion, not by reason. However, Vanda is sincere in love, drinking each time the chalice of pleasure, thrill and excitement to the bottom.

Only when the first signs of difficulties show up, does she wonder what has happened: is she the cause of her own troubles? Or the men she deals with are not worthy of her love? How come she can advise her patients on understanding and managing their own feelings, yet she is unable to councel herself in similar cases?

In this process of trial and error, of being torn between desire and reason, Vanda grows and matrures emotionally. Will she succeed in the end?
