La presente opera apporta un contributo considerevole alla ricostruzione della storia economico-sociale di San Prisco agli inizi del XIX secolo attraverso la pubblicazione e l’analisi di importanti fonti storiche precedentemente ignorate.
In essa si ripercorre la storia di San Prisco grazie al Catasto provvisorio del 1815 e a numerose altre fonti archivistiche del periodo; inoltre, sono trattate le principali vicende storiche, i personaggi e i primi documenti a partire dal 1020 fino alla fine del XVIII secolo che tiene conto dei diversi contributi dati a quest’argomento negli ultimi anni.
Prezioso lavoro di ricerca e di sintesi della documentazione d'archivio di straordinario interesse per la conoscenza della società sanprischese.
Le ricerche dell'autore, che nascono da una non comune passione storiografica, hanno anche un considerevole merito civile, ossia di offrire in dono alla comunità di San Prisco, in particolare, e alla provincia di Terra di Lavoro in generale, un prezioso strumento di conoscenza della propria storia.

This work makes a considerable contribution to the reconstruction of the socio-economic history of San Prisco in the early nineteenth century through the publication and analysis of important historical sources previously ignored. It traces the history of San Prisco thanks to the provisional land register of 1815 and numerous other archival sources of the period; in addition, the main historical events, characters and the first documents from 1020 to the end of the eighteenth century are discussed, which takes into account the various contributions made to this topic in recent years.
Precious work of research and synthesis of the archive documentation of extraordinary interest for the knowledge of the San Priscese society.
The author's research, which stems from an uncommon historiographical passion, also has considerable civil merit, namely to offer the community of San Prisco, in particular, and the province of Terra di Lavoro in general, a precious instrument of knowledge of one's history.
