Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information
Science in Boston, Massachusetts, has worked in several Florida
libraries and taught as an adjunct instructor in the library school at
the University of South Florida. He has written a number of books
and articles about reference and information sources, among them
Kister’s Best Encyclopedias and Kister’s Best Dictionaries. He is
also the author of Eric Moon: The Life and Library Times, a wellreceived
biography of one of America’s preeminent 20th-century
librarians, as well as Florida on the Boil: Recommended Novels
and Short-Story Collections Set in the Sunshine State. A native of
Pennsylvania, Kister has lived in Florida since 1973.view less
