The Williamstown Literary Festival has now grown into one of the country’s most respected wordfests, attracting some of Australia’s best loved authors. The festival is run by a committee of locals, supplemented by contract staff at festival time.
The festival has a strong focus on local participation, with the annual People’s Choice awards showcasing aspiring local writers and poets. The Ada Cambridge Award for Poetry and Prose is run annually with the winners being announced at the festival’s opening.view less
