The life threatening diagnosis changed her life course from academics and research to becoming a therapist specializing in oncology. Facing death at a young age was an isolating experience. She made the commitment that if she lived, she would provide support and guidance to other cancer patients and their loved ones.
Brenda has been in private clinical practice since 1991. She has created and presented programs locally and nationally on the socio-emotional aspects of the cancer experience. As a 20+ year cancer survivor, she intimately understands the fear of dying. She volunteers for MOCA (Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance) and is a patient representative for the Mayo Clinic SPORE (Specialized Program of Research Excellence) grant for ovarian cancer. She is a board member for the Alumni Board for The College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota.
Brenda lives with her family in St. Paul Minnesota.view less
