Specifically, Asperger Syndrome. It has never stopped me from leading a productive life; I have a happy family, a PhD in Chemistry, and a well-paying day job. It is, however, a struggle every day to maintain connections with other people, communicate with them appropriately, and not be confused by their behavior.
I don't let the way my brain is wired limit me in any way though. Sure, I have to spend lots of time at home recovering from being around other people, but when I'm not doing that I am a homebrewer, a National-ranked beer judge, an aspiring triathlete, a windsurfer, a mountain biker, and, obviously, writer. I also have a day job at a large pharmaceutical company.
