In my early twenties, I attempted repeatedly, unsuccessfully, to publish my children's stories. I got very discouraged, and after about ten years of trying, I gave up for many more years. However, I have learned much since then and feel that perhaps e-publishing is the way to go. I have also upgraded to a slightly older audience, such as pre-teen to teenage years, and I am currently working on a fantasy I hope will launch my dream.
