He was born in Tramosnica Gornja (Bosanska Posavina, Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 1940 and studied at Tramosnica Gornja (Primary School), Gradacac (High School) and Sarajevo, where he graduated with a degree in the Arts.
His stories have been selected in many anthologies, reviews and special editions and have been translated into Italian, German, Spanish, English, Polish and Turkish.
