Jamie Dell White was born in Brooklyn and raised in Miami, Florida. She grew up in Skylake, in North Miami Beach, and witnessed Miami become the international hot spot it is today....view moreJamie Dell White was born in Brooklyn and raised in Miami, Florida. She grew up in Skylake, in North Miami Beach, and witnessed Miami become the international hot spot it is today. As an identical twin, she spent much of her youth being continuously confused with her twin sister, which is also her best friend. After high school, she studied journalism at Florida International University, and went on to law school. She is a labor and employment law attorney, and received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University School of Law. After practicing law for several years, she put her career on hold to raise her two children, now ages sixteen and fourteen. Aside from the full time job of raising teenagers, she enjoys tennis, yoga and writing. She currently lives in Parkland, Florida, with her trial lawyer husband, Kenny, her children, and an adorable cockapoo named Buddy. Defense of the Heart is her debut novel.view less
