Sanford was born in Helena, Montana in 1978 and was an only child raised by a single mother in Drummond, Montana. At the age of 19 she married Rusty Sanford and three days later became a military spouse when he entered basic training.Rusty and Gina divorced in 2005 and were remarried in 2006. They face the everyday challenges of raising an Autistic child, managing military life, and living as a family of five in these uncertain times.Nothing about me is “typical”. I live a crazy life, and if you have a family of your own I’m sure you can relate. We live as a military family in these uncertain times. I am doing my best to raise three wonderful, sometimes very consuming children and support my husband as he moves in and out of our life through his military career. One way that I found to relax and decompress in the constant Motherhood/ Military Spouse rush of our everyday existence was to write. So..I did. I found humor and comfort in remembering the things that had gone on during the day or week. Sometimes being in the moment was far from humor or comfort, but putting it down in a story I could reflect on made it all feel okay.I couldn’t help but share. So...I did. I started blogging on Myspace shortly after my Husband returned home from his first deployment in Iraq in 2003. He was sent over seas at the kick off of Operation Iraqi Freedom, which would change our lives forever. I know I am not alone in the several trials of military life or life as a Mother. I found that amazingly there were many people who could relate and truly enjoyed reading my ramblings. Here we are years later with “Blogs Bombs, and Booby Traps”. A collection of some of the short stories I have shared through out the last few years of our sometimes difficult, often amusing, but most definitely blessed life.view less
