I was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. in a neighborhood known as Kensington. If you saw the movie “Rocky” you will have a very good idea of my environment. I went to catholic school for twelve years and the reason I mention this is because now a day people have to fork over @ three to four thousand dollars a year for the same education that was free back then. Of course I was aware of the value of such a gift at a young age, so I anchored myself to my upbringing and followed the shooting star of dreamers. Being raised with seven siblings in a collectively surviving group was seemingly the aphrodisiac for “Tribal Living”. In other words, the survival of the fittest.
The colloquial elements of my education however proved too slow for me and although learning was my anchor in society, I felt as though I could learn faster on the streets. In other words I became a “know it all”. When high school graduation arrived I was a child of the neighborhood “Tribe”. Barely containing myself, I made it through high school and turned down an academic scholarship to La Salle University. Whenever the desire to learn the essence of something arose, I would go to night school, the result of which is 40 credits in Mathematics, History and 3 semesters of English, including Comp101(writing).
So, here we are.
