Still alive with sports and community service, he has also taken to write in fictional form about special issues and interests. The latest, his sixth, is prompted by not only his love for history, but also his learning about a time in the history of the Native Americans that needed to be told.
What he learned about Native Americans while researching From Bird Mountain, his saga about exploring and colonizing Norsemen around the year 1000AD, led to Gitche' Manitou, about those natives and a culture very different from what has previously been pictured.
He and his wife of sixty-five years divide their time between Central Florida and Western North Carolina.view less
