About this audiobook
Lament is how you live between the poles of a hard life and trusting God's goodness.
Lament is how we bring our sorrow to God-but it is a neglected dimension of the Christian life for many Christians today. We need to recover the practice of honest spiritual struggle that gives us permission to vocalize our pain and wrestle with our sorrow. Lament avoids trite answers and quick solutions, progressively moving us toward deeper worship and trust.
Exploring how the Bible-through the psalms of lament and the book of Lamentations-gives voice to our pain, this book invites us to grieve, struggle, and tap into the rich reservoir of grace and mercy God offers in the darkest moments of our lives.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Our world is a very broken place. We need to remember the spiritual practice of lament. We can’t just celebrate the victories without walking through the battles. This book demonstrates the purpose of lament and how to lament I may not agree with the author on every side issue, but this is a hugely necessary book in many ways.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Learning the grace of lament was spiritually restorative and healing to my soul. May God help me to praise Him through lament when sorrows like sea billows roll. God is always good, even when this world and its trials are not.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5After suffering thru three miscarriages, this book was a healing balm for my soul. It leads you to Gods word and to see how lament pushes us towards Him thru tough times. All people need to know how to lament and this book teaches just that. 10/10 recommend for all but especially those who are hurting.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Well written and thoughtful book. I appreciate the depth Scriptural support.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love the idea of lament and using it to help others deal with pain while continuing to connect with God. I however am frightened to still make the effort to approach others with this idea of lament. Definitely a useful read for the elephant in the room.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I’m thankful for taking a chance to read a book written by a unfamiliar author. This book was necessary for the facing my thrones in the flesh as a blessing not a curse. Amen
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A well written and much needed book on how we should lament. So many important truths in this book and they were backed up by scripture.
